Free NSE EOD & historical data downloader..attached

I am looking for free NSE and BSE data downloader.

Information about that welcome.

How to download from the title linked above.
hi,

My software is a free NSE EOD data downloader. It does not download for BSE.

Complete help for using the software as well as uploading data in metastock are available here
http://hemenkapadia.somee.com/getbhavcopy/html/help1.asp

Read all the 4 help files to get complete understanding.

To download getbhavcopy as well as historical data go to

Hi Hemen! Your program is excellent; it is so nice of you that you provided consolidated data upto 04-10-2007, which made our job simpler, and we are able to do the daily updates with ease. Thanks for your efforts and time. Awaiting your futures data in Getbhavcopy soon... Thanks again

Good work Hemen, but you should include the BT series as well; otherwise once a stock moves into the T2T segment (for sometime) the app stops downloading it's data resulting in discontinuous data.

(I am assuming BT series is the one for T2T stocks from the info provided here http://www.nse-india.com/content/equities/eq_serieslist.htm
Also the BE series - mentioned at the end - looks like it's deprecated, so better avoided)

Kalyan.

Hi Kalyan,

All series except EQ were specifically blocked for a reason that Metastock downloader does not take the series into consideration. Hence if there is daat for RNRL in EQ and BT series there were inconsistencies in the data in metastock. Hence I was requested to block all other series except EQ.

I changed that code in version 1.1, but then it seems like some people do track the shares in the other series.

So i think in version 1.2 (should be out in 2 weeks) will have a check box in the options tab, that will need to be checked if you want to include all series. By default it will only be unchecked hence other series will be filtered out as per the requirements of the major number of users.

Thanks for inputs like these, Getbhavcopy just keeps getting better and better.

Regards,
Hemen.

Oh no, Hemen! Please don't add an all-encompassing ALL checkbox as the data might be a mess as with most other downloaders (I liked yours as the data was clean). Only thing is stocks keep passing in-&-out of the Trade to Trade (referred to as T2T in my previous post) segment and as such for the period when a stk is in the T2T category (& quoted under the BT series) it's data will not be downloaded as your app downloads data only for the EQ series.

For e.g. let's say a stock was in the EQ segment till 5th Nov. From 6th Nov it was relegated to the T2T segment and, as a consequence, the quotes data was available only under the BT series. On 6th Dec the same stock got out of the T2T segment and started quoting under EQ series again. Now with GETBHAV the quotes data from 6th Nov to 5th Dec WOULD NOT BE DOWNLOADED resulting in discontinuity (a 1 mth gap for this hypothetical stk) in the stored data.

ADVANI HOTELS can be cited as a recent example (this one, if i'm not mistaken went on to make a 52Wk High after coming out of the T2T segment).

So the best thing would probably be having check boxes for EQ & BT (thus accommodating ONLY EQ, EQ & BT & ONLY BT - enough for most users) and you can also keep the ALL - just in case - but please make sure it dosen't mess up the data (with duplicates etc.). Do it incrementally if you like, giving you enough time for testing, debugging etc.

And thanks a lot for the effort and the sharing.

Regards,
Kalyan.
