Default Stock screener for Indian stocks

with the permission of all the respected seniors and traderji, i would like to draw the attention of all on one very important aspect of stock analysis and that is screning of stocks from a huge universe. i have searched intensively on the net for one suitable to indian stocks but the success has eluded me so far. With brilliant mind like Mr. Murthymsr, saint, joymitali, sirsira, soumya and pagenotfound to name a few, iam confident a simple and effective scanning software can be made. This will go a long way in making stock picking easy for all and the same is the need of the hour. I leave this message
hoping for a constructive response.
PS. My apologies to all whose names are not mentioned here, however they deserve highest regard from me and all other boarders.

thanks to humnawa for initiating the requirement which many may be looking out for.

and more thanks for swagat for accepting the request and offering his coding skills for this developmental work. sowmya and all others also welcome to come out for the necessary support on coding & domain expertise.

i request swagat to speakout his brief outline, particularly the OS's intended to support, the platform/language intended to be used & other initial details.

i wish that the program may ultimately compilable and is platform independant, but of course, it is the prerogative of the developer.

i am always available to whatever help i can render.

while on the subject, for users of Amibroker, the objective is very easily achievable by developing a suitable 'System' with AFL. but this initiative may help all members.

all the best to all.

Hi murthymsr,

What is 'System' with AFL, that you mentioned in your thread?

As far as screener is concerned, I am using an application that supports write a query (eg: MA 5/20 Crossover). Stocks that satisfy the condition are only displayed. Is this the same as the sceener that you mentioned?

Regards,
