hi amaren,

i missed to add windows ME in the options list and also not shown respect to multiple OS users.

well, good that we have another linux fan, the other one i was referring was pkjha30.

why don't you 'give' some windows compilations of linux sw? i love them for their stability and less hunger on resources.

while creating the poll, i have not exercised my option, as i was in a transition phase into a new system with a new OS.

my new OS is windows XP professional service pack 2 on P4. my earlier OS was win 98 SE on P2.

as many new programs were not working on 98, i had to change, after two long years of indecision.

Murthygaru,

two birds in 1 shot. You get a new comp p4 with XP and still have the Win 98 on p2 to test applications..

great going...

Hi Murthygaru

You can install win 98 on a seperate partition(may be D:\ )after XP is installed. XP uses NT BootLoader. Win 98 will be added to it as one of the options. You can edit c:\boot.ini if necessary. But keep a boot floopy and back up of boot.ini in case it is messed up.

For linux using NT Bootloader , a little trick needs to be done else grub will do the task by overwriting NT Bootloader.Best to avoid it .

hi blrboy,

this poll and the other on MS office versions was created with the idea to collect and make available the information to developers to enable them to decide on the extent of support to older versions.
