Default Wish List

Dear all,

the first stage of software development is identifiaction of features in the proposed softwares (there will be more than one with the ultimate objective of integration).

so, i appeal to ALL MEMBERS (not developers alone), to post their wish list in the proposed softwares, in the thread, named "Wist-List", exclusively for this purpose.

such requests will be compiled and split into projects and will be taken up by a team of willing developers in a new project or added to an on-going project.

thank you all for the wonderful experience at traderji,

murthymsr

thanks ger06 for your 'wish', which is the first in this thread. while developing the portfolio SW, all or as many as possible will be considered by developers.

keep them coming.
all the best.

dear munchikana,

i doubt if it can be achieved immediately in view of live data limitation (from *****). anyway, developers will take a note and add the features as per data source availability from ***** or others.

hope you bear with..
thanks for the request.

Stock Split Adjustment = Stock Split Adjustment allows you to adjust historical price and volume data when a stock split occurs. Following a stock split, previous price and volume data values are adjusted to match the new valuation.

further, i would like to add:

1) if a stock was split on 2006/01/01 in the ratio of 1:2 (2 new shares for every share held), all the stock prices before 2006/01/01 will be multiplied by 0.5 and the volumes multiplied by 2. this will ensure that the price-volume charts, volumes and turnover will be smooth/continuous without a step.

most of the TA software has a provision to enter the split ratio and the effective date against each split stock.the TA software makes such changed in all the compiled historic data.

2) data may be considered bad if some of the fields like open, high, low, last, close are zero or negative (for stocks/indices) & volume and turnover is zero or negative (for stocks only) or yesterday's close does not match with today's previous close( some eod files may be missing). the bad data alarm may be considered in EOD download programs and show the bad data with option to user to delete/redownload the file.

hope, this makes the point.

all the best.

Hi Murhygaru

As always you clearly made your point. I think we may need to store data with split adjustment seperately without disturbing original one.The adjusted data could be further adjusted in future.I think same wouls alos apply for bonus.

As regards bad data filtering, we may need to run the data through analysis to test for such conditions.
