i plannning to open a financial website. The site also includes a powerful database.

And i am SW Engg..and i just know C++,C# and i am not aware of the technologies to design and maintain a server. I can manage with DreamWeaver.

Please let me know the technologies i want learn for designing a website and for server maintanence.

I think the server maintainace is done by the hosting co you choose unless u decide to maintain ur own.
You will need a PHP or ASP.NET based website with database in MySQL.
Also, AJAX and data in XML will help a lot for quick page loading.
Moneycontrol is a combination of ASP and javascript based data.
Also, a content management system like joomla, drupal or wordpress will make things easier.
