Default Help:On Odin Software

Hi,
I am using Odin software for placing my trades. At a brokers office i saw that they have linked the odin software with excel sheet and live data was coming into the excel sheet tick by tick for the selected stocks.

How this can be done? I was told that there is some plugin by which this can be done. If anyone can help in this then kindly do so.

Regards
Mohan

your software is a convertor...and requires .net, which slows the machine.

plus I have heard that there is a 10 to 15 second delay for data to convert...

whats ur feedback on that, datafetchers.com?

Can u guide about delay?
also, what about backfill which is of utmost importance........does your fetch from odin provide backfill? like if I am disconnected for 10 mins , what happens to the data continuity?

Dear DayTrader,

As Mohan asked for connectivity for ODIN, i showed alternate for that and correct reply to it.

As you already knows, it is real time converter so it converts data in real time and updates to amibroker. Many odin gives 10 secs. delayed data which can be set in options if your odin permits to do so.

Yes, it is true that if you has less than 512MB of ram and WinXP Profe.SP2 it is slow, as we too got complains regarding slowing of machine.

As our all utility depends on source of data, ODIN is not giving any backfill and so our utility can't give. It is converter and not data provider type of utility.

Now your all doughts will be clear, warm welcome for more query

Thanxs for the replies.

I am not looking for live data for any technical analysis. The data from Odin is to be used in excel for my own formulas and calculations. say for eg brokerage, return etc will be calculated by this feed and i don't have to put in figures manually. Also during trading hours putting figures manually takes time so it will be very conveinent if i could get real time data into excel for selected stocks. a 5-10 second delay will not be that important to me.
So if anyone knows of any such utility or method by which this can be done then please kindly help me in this regard.

Thanxs
Mohan
