Well it's upto you to keep it free. I have run it, but getting runtime errors or some exception kind of thing. Also, I downloaded the code. It is the same code, which I have in JAVA. I think you got this from a Java Project. I attempted it and was sucessfull in reading symbol lists, but left it as i was unable to convert those bitwise operations. Not familiar with that much and DOT Net Too. The code is still with me. You have developed in Visual Studio 2005. I have VS 2003. So, could not open the project as a whole. I suggest you go through the MetaLib and its architecutre. You too can make a custom DLL like that and release it go General Developers who want to make use of it. :-) Wishing You all the Best. Hello guys,
Thanks for the feedback. ACA_TRADER if you could do me a big favour and zip up the directory/Path you are having problems with and email it to me at icecubetray@users.sourceforge.net I can take a look at whats happening. It should work for 254 symbols...... I will hopefully be putting out a new release in a couple weeks that will incorporate the XMASTER.......or maybe sooner.... I will probably need some people to test it.....because adding this was a massive change. XMASTER is a real hack on MetaStock's part...... Satya, yes the java code was the first code I found, I rewrote it in VB to read the files, then once I found a doc on the file format, I ventured out in no mans land to code the writing portion.......and here we are. I have been talking with another developer recently(a real programmer) who is willing to rewrite the application(metastock read/write functions) into a DLL. It would have a similar function as MetaLib. I believe he is planning on joining my project......which is exciting, as two people should be able to progress the project much faster. He will also be able to improve the performance, error handling and improve the UI. This would also make the program a little more modular for having multiple developers.... If you guys come across an error you can email that to me as well.....I believe an error window should pop up with a detail box, that should indicate where the error is occuring.....then I can fix the codeas it will list the error and the function its failing in.......and hopefully solve the problems you are having..... Yes the project was developed under .net 2005...... Cheers, Trevor |

Trevor,
No doubt a very good initiative. that should be your real name? Is it possible to port your project into DotNet 2003? or atleast is there a backword compatiblity, so that i can completely open the project in DotNet 2003? Yes, if you have 2-3 members as developers then the work gets easy. I suggest you take a DLL approach and then build your other smart applications around the DLL.This way you achieve modularity and protect your other applications from any code change incase you change the DLL. I too use my own DLL for rending data to various chart softwares. As of now covered MS, AB and FCharts. Regards Satya |

Satya,
I took a brief look, and I can't see anything to save as an older version or convert to an older version. As a favour to you I could copy and paste all the code into text files and send them to you? To avoid doing all the files........are there any files in particular you are interested in? The other problem is I am in the middle of an upgrade to get the XMASTER code going so things are a little broken right now.......in the current version Let me know exactly what code you want to see and I will send it to you. I will open up the 0.9+ code and send you what you want to see. I guess if you know 2003 you should be able to piece it together? I guess you would also have to provide me with your email address.... Cheers, Trevor (my real name.. )

yeah i could open all those class files in the text editor. Just carry on with your work, not that urgent. sending all code as text files should be a great thing. i can make a 2003 project out of it. Do it only when you are done with all your pending jobs. my email id is kandukury@*****.com Satya |

amarinpune,
First you have to create a directory with securities in Equis Downloader. Then in Meta-All add the path. It should show up in the treeview. Select the path in the Treeview(click on it with your mouse), then click on the Add Security button. Cheers... |

Sure the more help the better. I have a chap out of mexico helping me, but we have both been fairly busy, so the project isn't progressing very quickly right now.
You can get the latest source and application off of the SVN repository in sourceforge. The new version is DLL based, so that people could potentially write their own applications. Its performance is much better, though it still has some bugs and data corruption issues. no it doesn't support intraday.....but it could in the future. The problem with intraday is that you would have to have a data provider.......so for now EOD is widely available and free, so the focus will be on EOD. But if you want feel free to take the initiative to incorporate the Intraday changes......this will require some reverse engineering on your part to reverse engineer the metastock data file.....as I do not have information on the intraday file format. you can contact me at icecubetray@mountaincable.net cheers, Trevor |

There is no sourcecode on DLL or SVN either on Sourceforge.net.
