What happened to MINIFTY

I can't see MINIFTY contract from this month in my Zerodha Trading terminal. Nor NSEindia.com site showing it.

I don't know the news. Can anybody take the pain to tell me what happened to MINIFTY or point me to the News?

Mini Nifty has been discontinued from Feb expiry contracts. Regulators feel that the novice traders come to F & O through Mini nifty route and loose money. But now novice traders will trade Nifty and loose more money......but that is how regulators think and act...

Strangely, I have always found the TBQ / TSQ volumes of MiniNifty to be most indicative of the Nifty trend and future intent.

Yes, yusi. Also mini nifty was useful for testing the methods in real time with smaller exposure.It also gave opportunity to new traders to book partial profits....in fact what was needed was a mini Bank Nifty contract.....but regulators discontinued the existing Mini Nifty contract " to safeguard small investors".

I think discontinuing Minifty is more due to Low Volumes. Futs was somewhat ok, bit Options was pathetic. Virtually nil participation. Sadly SEBI is giving unreasonable & unacceptable reasons.
