Exercising an option

I have bought TCS option CALL 1350 @ 41
currently it is trading at 30(around)
If I want to exercise it I have to pay all of the amount 1350*250
or i have to pay 1350*250 minus premium
I am using icicidirect

All options in NSE are of Europien Style and hence can be exercised only on Date of Expiry.
You can easily Sell it at CMP of 33.90 making a loss of Rs.7.10*250 Plus Charges.
If at all there was a provision for Exercising, a hypothetical situation, you would get Just Rs. 17.00 as the Underlying CMP is 1367.00 (1367 minus 1350=17) so there would be no point in exercising now.

Thanks for the reply ..Like I said I have already paid 41 as premium for a option per share

So when i will be exercising the option ,the premium will be reduced from the strike price(1350-41) ..or it will be just the strike price(1350) and I will end up paying 1350+41(premium ) for a share

Not all options in NSE are of Europien Style .

Equity options are american style and index options are european.

All NSE options (index or stocks) are European styles...

Welcome to Traderji chandrusvc ! Your first post and you have , sorry to say erred ! Please do find out on your own, where you are making a mistake.
ALL OPTIONS IN NSE ARE EUROPEAN STYLE NOW !
Even if you are not trading Options but have been checking rates for any stock options you would get the idea. All calls are CE (Call European) and all Puts are PE (Puts European) There are no longer CA or PA which denoted American Style Options.

why you want to exercise it, ? you can sell it @ cmp......

So u have paid 10250 to buy TCS 1350ce...u can sell now or before expiry..cmp around 10...so u will be credited with 2500 and difference of 7750 will be ur loss...excluding brokerages...

Apologies everyone for the wrong info i provided . I just got to know that all options became European Style since Jan 2011 .

Guess what i got this wrong info straight from NSE. It seems NSE derivatives books needs to be updated.
