Options (NEWBIE) Geojit

#1
Hi,

I have done day trading but new to Options trading. A screenshot of Geojit options trading is attached. Could someone explain it to me? How to carry out the trade?

I have read about options trading online, but I would like to try it out in Geojit.

Thanks in advance.

If you are novice how would you advice for go for future and not for option?
option is having time value..which goes against buyer...
if one can sell options..then it is ok..go for option..
else for making money go for futures..as the time value will never hit u..

do ur home work..
plan before u trade.

Decaying of time value is only one of the elements of the option. Futures could earn you good money and also hit you hard adversely without any limit.

Option and futures both have their pro and cons. Experience both of them and use them for your benefits.

thanks Vijay.

I would like to know ...
1) what "Strike Price" and "Price" means?
2) Does "Price" means the amount i expect Reliance to be by 30th December?
3) I heard there is a premium? How do I know and enter that?
4) I do not intend to buy, just book profits. What is my total expense? How do I find it out?

thanks in advance...

thanks very much, drsubhadip for the info.
couple of questions though, if you could help me with...

1) "Price" - What is that field? Is that the amount I expect to be by 30th september?
2) if strike price is 50, then my total expense(premium) would be 250*50 = 12500? is that correct?

thanks in advance...
