Need help for beginner to trade in F&O

#1
Friends,
I am a risk taker, I want to start my trading in F&O with 3L. As I am not a professional trader, I would like to go to any security broker in hyderabad to trade F&O on my behalf. Please suggest whether this is a good idea. If so Could somebody advise any famous stock broker in hyderabad who are in F&O trading?
And how much do they charge to trade on behalf me?
Thanks a lot.

Friend,

You said you are not a professional; don't know how new are you for trading. There is nothing special with FnO trade success and a broker. Absolutely no correlation, in your case.

Trading is not something you could "jump" with 3L or something. It is a profession that should be learnt.

Go thru the sections and threads in this forum. Take time to learn, take time to make mistakes, take time to learn from mistakes; it is all about getting more and more refined in your own way.

I would be happy to assist you if you have any specific question.

Dear Mr Swagatham,
As mentioned by you, you are not a profesional trader so please donot jump with 3L directly in F&O market.First get well acquainted yourself with F&O market and then take the decision.
There is a good book on derivative market by Ashwani Gujral "HOW TO MAKE MONEY TRADING DERIVATIVES." You may go through that and also go through the many useful threads by senior members on TJ.
Please take the wise decision .All the best.

Equity trading and F&O trading is almost similar in
many ways.Differences being

1.Equity Shares can be sold in any number, but F&O
in permitted lots.

2.Equities to be squared off within a day but F&O
will be squared off on last thrusday of each month.

3.Shorting for a prolonged period in case of equities
is not possible.

4.Buying/Selling of indices is possible in F&O only.

These are few differences.
Any newbie entering F&O trading, better to try Nifty
Future trading rather than Stock Futures.

There is no straight forward answer. The answers are highly subjective and relative; now your problem is learning to ask right questions, once you raise right questions, right answer will follow; to raise right questions, you have to learn basics

Take Care

Hi Swagatham,

I guess your question is about finding a professional trader to trade your 3L!?

Unless he is highly recommended, and you can see his track record, no it's not a good idea. They'll want 30% plus of the profits, you'll take the costs and they will not be responsible for any losses.

Many brokerage firms offer brokers to trade your cash for you. Last one I saw was Sharekhan offering either a broker to trade for you or an automated system. Also noted that the minimum was 5L. With 3L you're probably limited to finding a good index MF or ETF.

Hope this helps.

Hi, straight forward answer is it's not a good idea to jump now into F&O trading with all 3L. Learning with a partial amount will help you know the drawbacks of what are the real problems you are facing practically.

Hi All,

I have a different question but was not sure where to post. I have a account with Sharekhan. They do not allow to sell a option (call or put) unless you buy it first. Is that true for other brokers also?
If yes, is there any way we can sell the option first and later buy it to square off.

Thanks in advance!
Alan
