Futures beginner needs help on squaring off

Please can u tell me 2 things.

1. Angel broking minimum margin requirement for bajaj hindustan is 14% +additional 10 % which today comes to around 60000 for 1 lot. So if i buy 1 lot by putting exactly 60000 and if prices come down by say 5% only, then will my trade be squared off as i won't have anything more than 60000 in my account?? How much can a script go down before i will face margin call in this situation? please help.....This would be my first rrade so i dont want to mess it up plz.

2. A silly question. In ODIN for buying futures i press f1 and for squaring off i press f2 like normal equity buying and selling right? Or is there any other way of squring of a futures trade in ODIN diet?

margin call depends on the brokerage requirements..better to call your broker or their help line....i doubt if they'll square off your position by itself...that i believe happens only in the cash market when you short sell and have to square off by eod.

don't know if this helps completely...but hopefully others on the forum will pitch in.

I do not know about angel broking but HDFC sec in its rules has stated that "if the Net liquidation value goes below 70% in your account we may sell your existing assets" but they have told me that in such cases we usually inform the customer immediately & give him/her some time prolly a day or 2 before taking action.... so it will be better if you contact your broker about this matter.

1.Once the stock futures are bought ,it hardly matters if it
goes up or down.It matters only when they are squared up
or on last Thrusday of the month.Accordingly you get money
or pay money to the broker.
