First trade of the day

Generally do not initiate the FIRST TRADE before 10.30 AM of the day since during the period 9.55am -10.30am the nifty uses to be highly VOLATILE and first trade is quite important as it is precursor of next few trades.Similarly do not initiate FRESH trades after 3.00PM and you can hold the futures/equities if already they are in PROFIT ,but need to be closed down before bell rings.

Well said Columbus. I agree with you as this is what I also practice.
But the decision shd be based on individuals personality. For someone with Formula-1 type of fast action personality, this is the best time to make quick money in shortest possible time. I know of traders who play first 30 - 60 mins of the day and make their daily earning targets during this period. Once that is done, they are off from their monitor and engage in other activities.

Wish I could do that.. (someday)

Happy Trading

That is true. But VOLATILITY reaches a maximum value before 10.30 AM generally ,reaching a value around 60 versus the normal closing value of around 30 ,as of now.
