dear kedar,
There is no fixed formula. margins are daily prescribed by nse depending on market conditions and that of particular entity. if u trade on TT5 or TTadvance, open "link" at the top bar and eneter span margin details. u would find daily margins applicable for all entities. for hedging, u are charged exposure margin only once i.e. u are charged two span margins and one exposure margin. meanwhile pl let me know your investment size and brokerage paid. I may suggest u better options. if u r new trader, my sincere advice is not to trade in derivatives intitally. first do mock trading only, otherwise u may land yourself in soup. regards bansal |

Hey guys
Marging percentage required for Nifty Trading is about 15% which works out to about Rs 44000 for the Future. Regarding options for buying no margin is required as the premium is paid upfront. For selling options you need the margin of 15 percent of the total value of the option sold strike price * quantity * 15 % Thx Raj |
