Hi all.
I am a novice in derivatives. i want to know some basic questions on derivatives...........
1. what are derivatives?
2.What is Index?
3.How one can invest in Index?
4.What is put and call options?
5.How do they work??
If anyone can answer these quetion ........Please Reply...

I will give you one link: www.investopedia.com and will answer one of your question.

You can 'invest' in Index through a mutual fund as most have an index fund.

On the lighter side,buy all the 30 stocks in the Sensex or 50 stocks in the Nifty! :)
