Do we have charts based on a particular no of trades instead of Time.

Say a candle for every Thousand trades on NF.
It can happen in 5min or 7min or 10min.

If so,is it available Free:) for testing.

Can it be traded with Vol,Volatality & aided by MACD,BB for successful Day Trade.

Has anyone tried it?

Charts with Constant Range Bars ( CRB) and Conctant Volume Bars are standard in many charting softwares....like Amibroker. I use CRBs and I find it much more useful in trading as it reduces the noise and periods when the market goes sideways ......

Whenever there is a uncommon topic like this one,i am confident a reply witll be there from Smart or SG & i am not disappointed this time also.

But what i have in mind of Constant No of Trades & CRB are perhaps different.
Pl clarify.

Pl read this following article on 'Simple Day Trading Strategy" which discusses in detail the Utility of this topic.
A Lateral thinking!

Thanks for the kind words, Rangarajan....

I have worked with CRB and CVB....but never came across constant number of trades charts.....the article mentions 4500 ticks chart, I am not sure whether it is 4500 x ticksize chart ( which is a CRB really ) or he means 4500 trades irrespective of the trade size ( though he says 4500 trades but I am not sure of its utility ). If it is trades, then I have not seen any charting software plotting on the basis of number of trades taking place.

Have a nice trading day ahead....

I think tick charts and CRB are different. In tick charts, a bar shows up after n number of ticks are completed. The range of each bar may be different. Also, the volume traded at each tick may be different.

Netdania shows good single tick charts. Nice to watch USDINR on it, since the ticks are so fast.

In Amibroker, the settings would be under Preferences -> Intraday
under this you have the option of selecting
T - for tick charts
R - for Constant Range Bars
V - for constant Volume Bars
