Square Off ??

Hi,

I'm new to trading and just got the sharekhan account opened and working few days back.

I wanted to know what Square Off means.

When I buy something and want to sell it same day I use this Square off and sell the share same day. But when I have a share bought some time back and I sell it today, then in Net Position I see the Square Off. What does this square off mean?

So, I wanted to know what does square off means when I have already sold the share.
