Guys, today I did a wonderful act of holding up the short sale for almost 14k (ITC:70 shares, price ~201) until 15:29 and decided to buy at the last minute. And at the last minute I got the alert that my available margin is too less to buy 70 shares in one shot and by the time I tried other possibilities, ran out of market time. 
I have no experience how the stock market actually works in detail, so please excuse me as an amateur. I had just 4.2k in my opening balance and I did the short sale with margin facility. I know that I owe like 10k for the Broker now & dont know apart that the account will be blocked for a week till next friday & then the auction will happen on that friday (since this happened today).
Now what would be the loss I would be incurring for the same, any approx figures?!
PS: all this activity I did without any analysis and just trying out on my own just to find out how the system works... but looks like I will be paying the worst price for it
