I want to start Day Trading in US markets. I've been in touch with two different brokers:- interactive brokers(http://www.interactivebrokers.co.in/en/main.php) and speed trader(http://speedtrader.com/).
IB has an office in India, and generally seems to be better than SpeedTrader. However, they claim that RBI doesn't allow Indian residents are not allowed to short stocks in off-shore markets. However, Speed Trader claims that we're allowed.
Can anyone please help me in this regard. Its really important for me to be able to short a few stocks so that I can hedge my risks.
