How to Trade Gap opening?

Hi all,

I have been trading for maybe around 3 years with somewhat success. But one concept which I am unable to grasps properly is how to trade gap opening. I have lost chunk of points while trading gaps. For last 6 six months, I have stopped trading when there is gap up/gap down. I just sit through the market but it is difficult as we know lots of point could be made while trading gaps.

I have seen in the forum lots of thread where lots of seniors (SwingKing,SavantGarde,ST,AW10,Raghavacc and lot others) talk about Gaps but unable to find a specific thread dedicated only to talk about Gap opening and how to trade them. Maybe I was unable to search properly in the forum if I have missed an existing thread.

So, I would request all the people who trade gaps successfully to post there charts and explain how to trade those.

Also, as and when I come across any post which talks about Gaps in this forum, I will share the link here (of-course if it is permitted by moderator; please let me know if it ok). Others can also share their post where it talks about Gaps.

I hope this thread become single resource for Gap opening trading. For that, I need your (all Traderji member's) help. Please contribute.

Gaps fascinate us a lot. We think there must be a way to trade the gaps and make money consistently. I did try a small sample and posted it here:

Take a look at AW10's comment in that thread. Perhaps you may get some idea.
I gave it up as I found randomness rules where gap closure is concerned and could not figure our a profitable way to trade that. Good luck to you.
