Volume weighted average price-Vwap

#3
VWAP as the price suggests it's the average of the volume weighted(in relation) to price.
It is calculated between any two intervals.
One can identify the general trend through VWAP.If VWAP is near to the high then bullish and if near to low then bullish.
In a given interval VWAP gives the price at which most of the trades are taking place

Exactly Two years back,i had posted this thread with met with Zero activity. My search also ended w/o success.

Since then, lot of water had flown under the bridge.
Even the Link i had posted is defunct.

But,by lucky accident,i came across Karthik's excellent Strategy using the VWATP for which again No one showed any interest initially .

However,as the system was very successful & profitable,i had repeatedly made many posts with charts to impress upon my fellow traders to follow & benefit.

At last,to my satisfaction,it has caught the fancy of many traders in this Excellent Forum & all r benifitted & continue to reap profits in this ocean of trading.

Rest is History.
Our thanks to Karthik once again for sharing this simple strategy.

Anant had made it more simple by developing & posting the s/w for identifying stocks for position trading as well.

And last but not the least,i have also been rewarded with a Free excellent s/w by ashish & more by Anant & Murthy.

Is any one trading Intraday with Vwap in cash?
If so,could u pl explain the methodology U R following & how successful this method.
I saw this thread only today.

SG used to trade with "Price Action" strategy and made use of VWAP. I have no details how he used it.

Been in search of a reasonable intraday mechanical system for some time now.

I still have doubts if this works. I wanted to backtest earlier after i saw this thread start this but could not because of other engagements. Looking at your enthusiasm i might put myself to work on this.

It would help if you could share your backtest results with me. Also if possible please share the System rules or direct me to the relevant post.

Hi Rangarajan sir,

Thank you very much for your post and the efforts taken to put this strategy in lime light for fellow traders. :thumb:

I am a small trader with small capital. I hv been trading some strategies for the past 2 yrs but yet to taste success. Your posts hv been of great inspiration to me. I just want to know few things. Please guide me sir.

1. Are you still following this vwap/atp method. Is it still runs on profit?

2. What is the strategy you are following for positional trades?

3. I have slightly modified your" reversal system with cci" for positional trading to fit in to intraday with 30tf and using rsi(14) instead of cci. I hv been trading this system for the past 6 months. But still I am not able to conclude whether it generates profit consistently bcoz of hindrances like manual scanning of scrips (spotting late), order not getting executed(jump in price) etc .

Can you/anant sir please back test the strategy in ami to know whether the system actually generates profit.

Although I am a small trader,I am very much disciplined in trading and good in money mgmt also.

Please help me in this regard.

Regards,
Sangeetha Narasimhan
