Hi vipinenator,

Bhavcopy contains of details of open price, high price, low, close and volume of every scrip traded on the exchange on that day. It can also contain more details like turnover, trades, etc.

Hi vipinenato,

Bhavcopy is the file which contains all the information about various scrips being traded on exchange.

There are different bhavcopy for different types of exchange and market.

In NSE, there is different bhavcopy for Quities, FNO, Commodties, etc.

Similarly, In BSE, the bhavcopy contains prices of various scrips on any particular day.

It is like the 9 PM news roundUp, covering in brief what all happened in the day.

While a stock is traded every second/minute of the trading period, the bhav copy shows the Open, High, Low and Close of the day as well as the total volume traded in a day. The close price is the weighted average price of the last 30 minutes of the day and is a very useful parameter for the next days' trading.

With one line of information for each stock, the bhav copy covers all the stocks traded on that day in that exchange. In the sane way, one bhav copy for each type of instruments traded on an exchange like stocks, futures, options, currency etc.

One has to select the type of instrument he will be interested and the exchange and download the same every day and import it into a technical analysis software to decide on the further strategy of buying/ holding/ selling.

Can any1 pls guideme frm NSeindia homepage where i have to go to get Bhavcopy for F&O.

Also, say if i want Bhavcopy for last 5days.. how can i get tht?
