Best Deal for Day Trading

#1
Hi Guys,
Currently banking with HDFC being offered the demat services..they offer 0.05% on Day trading with upto 4 times margin trading...

I would be primarily using it for Day trading...would like to know if there are any better deals that would entitle me to have the option to trade after 3.00pm and better brokerage and preferably non-site based service (ie. application running on your pc rather than buying and selling through the website)

Would be great if you experts out here suggest a suitable trading platform thats easy to use and reliable in terms of customer support and usage. And also having a good brokerage structure...

r k global ( brokrage 999/month or rs 9 / trade depending upon ur choice .
intraday sq. off time around 3 pm( not confirm ), terminal based system i.e., diet odin , and 6 times exposer on ur trading limit .

see all the above or others and think which one suits ur need and go.!!!

hi abhi...

i am looking for power india bulls. is it right for intraday trading...i mean is it reliable. i have been using icicidirect, ventura and kotak....there seem to be some problem with these in one end or the others.....as like i am giving some plus and negatives of these....

ICICIDirect: -
Plus: - Security is enhanced, very much user friendly(customer care support hardly needed), BTST possible or not is made clear

Negatives: - Very High Brokerage, Web Based, Slow site, No charting faility at all(not tick by tick)
(data is around 4 mnths back )

Ventura: -
Plus: - Terminal is good(once u understand the system fully and adopt it then only), Very low brokerage, phone support available, margine funding four times( good or bad for different people ), Charting is average

Negatives: - Low security, no BTST(buy today sell tomorrow) short sell and short buy occurs most of the times, on t+2 day if you ave any stock at 4 times leverage the marin i blocked and account is locked.
(currently using)

Kotak Securities: -
Plus: - 4 Times funding 10 times intraday, 4 times funding can be carried farword for 18% interest per year, Customer care supprt very helpful, research department is also good( deepends if you like to take market outlook or not), BTST possible

Negative: - Odin Diet is very poor(customizable but poor in case of charts), fund in and fund out system is not good, and many more...cant explain....really long deals and poor servies., No technical indicators for charts like mad, stochastic, rsi, averages nothing(onl fibonaci and trendlines)

Thanks...appreciate your valuable information...

From the comments from the fellow users (who were kind enough to reply) I managed to find the following:

Indiabulls...a bit costlier, they charge a one time fee of 1650, additionally their brokerage aint good for day trading...for 10,000 advance brokerage, they charge 0.03% (intra-day buy and sell) 0.25% delivery

Ventura: Pretty cheap...but not sure of their service and software solutions, their brokerage for a 5000 Advanced brokerage is 0.025% (intra-day - only on sell) and 0.17% delivery.

Sharkhan with advance brokerage of 6000, get a pretty good deal on the brokerage of 0.05% (intra-day on Buy) and 0.25% on delivery.

RK Global: with 999 pm need to shell out almost 12000 a year for brokerage (and the website is blocked in my office due to malware protection...so didnt get to a good feel for it)

So...Ventura is the cheapest...so is RK Global (is cheap if u have high volumes and a regular trader)...but I feel Sharekhan is a better package....what do u feel?

i am my self using ventura for last four months...i wont say that i am addict to it but its terminal i think is most user friendly and adaptable....the system is good...the only thing is that you need to understand it completely...

unluckily this understanding of the system mostly is understood by individual by their own risk..

for eg.. what i learnt with them

1. never use BTST with ventura...if u want to BTST then do it on futures.
2. if your opening margin is negative then u yourself sell the number of shares or transfer that much amount to ventura before they square off the same amount from you demat.
3. if short buy and short sell happens cause of BTST, then the amount of shares gone short sell or short buy is blocked after 5 days for more five days. :)

so there are some thing u have to see before setting ur self with them. else there system is good as compared to others in case of brokerage.

the other thing for me ventura lacks is in providing 10 times brokerage for intraday.

thanks for the replies guys! :)

got a better deal with Indiabulls...they want an advance margin money of 1 Lac to give 0.02% and 0.2%...at the same time...hdfc is offering the same with advanced brokerage of 10,000. alongwith MarketWatch - an website based live price ticker

How good is hdfc's Marketwatch product? The tips that they provide for short term and long term are pretty good...but how good is their platform for day trading?

I am not impressed with HDFC browser based ticker at all.

Negotiate with indiabulls, iam sure you can get 3 paisa intraday and 30 paisa delivery with no advance brokerage.
its best deal to start with.

Also india bulls account opening is Rs.900/- which is life time valid, no annual charges, what other charge,
Rs.750 will be charged for power Indiabulls activation, which is again lifetime charge and no extra payment for any updates.

So paying Rs.1650/- ontime is best deal and you save Rs.450/- every year on DP account maintenance.
