Stochastic Oscillator has three variable boxes.

thanks a lot for ur reply sir . now i jus set in my stoachastic %K periods is 8 , %K slowing is 3 , %D periods is 4 . am i right sir . and one more doubt is now i am doin with 5 mins candle bar with this stochastic . i dont know how to use 30 mins candle bar at the same time . can u pls tell me with chat example ? it will be very usefull for all people too sir . pls help us sir .

Thanks for your reply... I was trying to back test but little confused about stoch....
Can you tell me whether this is right:
average period = 8
%k period = 3
%k fast =4

And also trying to check the 30min chart but it does not show me stoch and 13 EMA for the entire day.trying to do this on EQ for intraday

The main stochastic line is known as %K, and is calculated over a specified number of days/bars, in this case, it is 8.

A short term moving average is applied to %K and this timing line is known as %D, which is 3 for this system.

A third variable is used to “slow” or smooth the %K line by displaying it as a moving average, which for us is 4.


I hope this clears all the doubts regarding the stochastic settings

by the way, stochastic settings do not make much difference...if you are not able to modify them, just use the default settings because my settings have just a minor deviation from the default.

Does it provide real time data??

Are you using real time java charts from investbulls??


If yes,

how do you see the chart for NIFTY, i can only see BANK-NIFTY,RIIL,and one more underlying.

I guess you need to pay them 350 rs for 1 month subscription.. to get full feature.

the settings you have mentioned seem to be ok.
in 30 min chart, there is no need to see the ema. you can just see the stoch in 30 min and see whether it is in bullish phase or bearish phase. after that you can switch to 5 min chart for the actual trade after you confirm 5 min stoch and ema crossovers.

as mentioned by regardson, you need to pay 350 for subscription to get intraday live charts. icharts.in also provides a similar service i think.

before you go for subscription, you can paper trade this strategy on banknifty intra-day live data that investbulls provides for free and see the results. i think this strategy should work well with banknifty too.

First trade of the day

bought @ 4288 on ema crossover with bullish stoch on both 30 and 5min charts.
squared off @ 4295 as stoch reversed and was about to crossover.
