Looks like we have to practice some cowboy stunts for the reflexes required in scalping.

Would be still watching how trader111 takes this thread forward

Re: Essentials For Beginners

[...] This makes clear how leverage (margin trading) can be a very powerful tool for a scalper. It is'nt a big deal to double a 1 lakh Rs. account in six months for a scalper.
I daytrade. Uninformed. Still trying to learn. So, I read and try to do my maths. I figured out sometime back that I can make more money, reliably, trading Call options (yeah, naked options and all, I know, I know) for say IFCI than I typically would with IFCI in cash. I had my own reasons:
[1] my broker charges me an arm and a leg
[2] trading is not yet my primary occupation; I have a day job which I quite like, and which makes it impossible for me to stay tuned to the screen for the entire duration, so need to get out without much reaction time.
[3] I also figured out that if you factor in position addition when a range is observable, you can make it really big. But then these were mostly back of the envelope calculations, so looking forward to learn more.

Of course, didn't know the pro's are in big time into this :) Thank you!

BTW if someone in Delhi can give time better get friends with traders at BLB Ltd. arbitrague house at ITO. They took pride in calling themselves Indias largest arbitrague house. (I have absolutely no idea how they are faring in other cities.) They actually have some good scalpers making consistently about one lakh each day, day in and day out. These guys have more than 90% trades as profitable trades.
Hi trader111,

I had been to BLB's ITO office a few weeks ago concerning thier trading activities and had a meeting with one of companies higher level executive. they are saying that they are pretty active in arbitraging but not interested in trading("single side badla" as they call it.).

My personal interest was to get started in a prop firm, which, i don't think are any existing in india so far. i also heard about MBL, trading hugely in indian markets, but, i have not been able to get any contact details from anywhere bout this firm.

So, what i am asking is, are u sure that BLB is operating in markets, and if u are? kindly share some more details regarding the same........

BTW i am also more of a scalper than trader but i am very choosy one.......

Thanx in advance dear...........bye.....

Hi All,
One of my friends knows the owners of BLB. Yes, they were big time into Arbitrague....they have a unique business model. They train guys, hire them and make them do arbitrague. Apart from salary, they pay them commission on profits earned...

However, that was before the new STT rule came about. After thay, I hear most of their arbit business has gone dull...BLB was even contemplating getting into brokerage business in May.

Anyways...thats none of our business...what I want to know is... is Scalping profitable after adjusting for brokerage, taxes etc and the new STT rules? I seriously doubt it. I may be wrong, but I feel cutting costs is the biggest challenge for being successful here. Unless you have a NSE ticket and thus pay dismal brokerage...the costs itself ....

If anyone here has done any calculations reg Average profit per trade vis-a-vis trading costs....just to get an idea of the minimum 'scalp' to gun for in each trade, please share it here.

Thanks,
Rakesh

For one lot of nifty on ICICI will take like 160-180 Rs as brokerage ,tax ,STT and all . For 10 lots it will be like 1300 rs . Correct me if I am wrong .

What about other trading accounts ? how much do you guys get charged for 1- 10 lots ?

So we need to make at least 20 points every time to get some profit , right ?

If one can scalp index futures with 90% winning days each month, with 10 to 15 average trades a day,he can trade any greater time frame with supreme accuracy.
