Default Importing Live feed from ODIN into TA software

Hi,

I'm using ODIN terminal, and would like to know if anyone has tried to import Live NSE/BSE/F&O feeds from ODIN into any TA software.

Previously I took a trial of IRIS Spider software, but they have the feed coming from their own server.

I was thinking, if the live feed is coming into ODIN, maybe there must be a way to intercept the feed and import it into a TA software.

Looking forward to your response

Thanks

VC

odin data can be captured and fed into amibroker/metastock through a utility provided by www.datafetchers.com. try their demo version

hi

the thing that you are trying to do is very hard if not impossible. i am not trying to discourage you however i have tried everything to do what you are trying to accompalish but in vain. the data is transferred by using SSL, which makes it hard(if not impossible) to intercept. i have even tried asking some very good and well educated people if this is possible. and all said they cant do it. all that i know, and maybe some use to you, is that when you start odin there is "Broadcast server reconnect" option in tool menu. the ip address and port no which is mentioned there is the place from where the data is broadcasted. however there is some software called "ODIN connect" which is provided by company who developed ODIN, this software can be used to connect your TA software to trading platform then you will be able to analyse as well as enter orders from your TA software.

if you know anything other than this, please let me know.

It is possible to connect ur odin data into Metastock or other softwares.

Some limitations are like ... no backfilling online. the way u can do with PIB. Other then that there is no problem as the developers are Financial Technology. I didnt hear about any software which can automate trade using odin. Though some firms are working with it. but still not sure. if anybody knows about it can surely buzz !! me anytime.

The tips to develop a software to fetch data from odin Terminal is it writes data in excel. So if anybody knows how to fetch data from excel to MS or Ami ,.. he can do it.

regards,...

You need to listen to the broadcast port (capture). This is normally in a compressed stream for obvious reasons, and, this need to be decompressed using a streaming uncompression. The uncompressed stream contains packets or records, different types of packets from security information, security status change information, ..., top buy/sell quotes with volumes, and, everything that you see on the terminal, well, almost. Too much information for comfort or requirement. You need to get this stream compression/decompression algorithms, and, get the broadcast specifications to strip out our quote requirements to transfer/update to TA software! But where to get these specs on streaming algos and data structures?

the compression system which is used is xceedzip however let me tell you they also use SSL to protect interception by other software so i dont think you can intercept the brodcast server data. the function of odin which is used to export quotes to excel file is not available anymore, i guess that was with older versions. the softwares which import data to TA softwares they use a different method alltogether. i have intercepted the data which is transmitted from brodcast server if you want i can post the file as well. however that would be of no use. i will try to check the streaming compression part as well. i will be glad to help in anyway to make it possible. any kind of information that you can provide will go a long way to make it possible.
