One can get Volume (EOD) of Nifty both in Quantity form and Value (Rs.Cr.) every day or for past periods by following the path in Home Page of NSEINDIA.com :

Equity > Market today

it's for the whole market & not for nify only...can be used as easy alternative..but for some..accuracy counts.
