by slightest bad tick/tick, then you know value of quality data. When you use data hungry softwares like TradeStation or Safir, you can go nuts (or bust) without the real data. These are the kind of people who buy data at a "high" cost ! No wonder 95% traders loss money. By the way since Soubhagya site is under construction for many days - especially the Real Time Data link - and you seem to know all details regarding pricing, will you be kind enough to let me know the exact source of Soubhagya Data. Is it direct from NSE or through another data service because the Soubhagya name does't appear on the list of data buyers as per NSE info ? I'm asking you this question because there are some so called RT data service providers who collect data from a broker's terminal through advance converters and 'relay' the 'data' to many non-suspecting customers - (that is why indiabulls have intentionally programmed their PIB 4.1 to delay writing data to customer's data folder). And does Soubhagya provide a free 30 day trial ? What is exchange fee component in their pricing ? Last edited by sudhir gupta; 3rd April 2007 at 05:20 PM. |

Before we talk about data let me comment about this 'should be free' attitude. There is never a shortage of the freeloaders, trying to get something for nothing, like there is free money lying around the corner for them to spend on weekends. If you havent paid your dues in work and on educating yourself, be prepared to become a mortuary statistic. I have met so many of those over the years that I have to distance myself from them due to the nauseating feeling :P
Also if you cant afford to pay 3k a month for real time data, seriously you shouldnt be trading, you are greatly undercapitalized. Ofcourse its different when you are learning to trade but still without practice on a tick feed for a minimum of 6 months you are underprepared for the realities of trading, but hey ..what do I know? Ok so lets talk about data The ones I have tried eSignal Its 80$ + exchange fees for basic service which can feed Amibroker, MS etc Exchange fees for NSE is $2, BSE is $6 If you sign up for a year its 59$ PM, around 2700 Rs Quotecenter Faster than eSignal, with RT Options & Breadth data 135$ PM Lots of extra goodies Reuters Datalink EOD Seriously slow updates Viratech EOD, StoxTrend EOD Ok Quality Technical Trends EOD & RT ( RT is a joke ) Poor Quality CV

This will be a new package, not update.
But before signing up, please note that there have been some problems recently with eSignal - like on 9th March there was no data at all after 12:30 (and i was deep in a trade!) . No Level 2 quotes. Sometimes if i want to see a RT chart by clicking on the scan result (not by entering a symbol in symbol lookup window), the data is not backfilled from eSignal - i have to force a backfill - which disrupts attention a lot. Also I've noticed that some real time scans, especially volume based scans like Twiggs Money Flow, give better alert signals on a data system based on PIB converted data to Amibroker than a system based on eSignal data to TradeStation or WealthLab ![]() But eSignal's Time & Sales Chart compensates for above deficiencies. You can see this chart even from beginning of a new F&O series ! Last edited by sudhir gupta; 3rd April 2007 at 07:55 PM. |
