I was looking for ***** symbols for some of the scrips. As advised here by some one ***** has adopted Symbols as that os NSE by adding .NS to the NSE symbol if NSE symbol is up to 9 characters and by trimming the last one character if 10 charecters. This is fine for most of the scrips except a few
ABAN.NS is not working
AMAR.NS should be for Amar Remedies but it gives data for Amaraja Batteries.
There may be a few more
As suggested here i also tried to look at all ***** symbols by quering with "*.NS" search. A long List appears. In this list there were 2 symbols for each scrip. One is as mentioned above and the second is having _a.NS in the end. Can anyone advise what is the purpose of this symbol. Is data shown by this the same as with .NS".
I also checked AMAR.NS and AMAR_a.NS here AMAR_a.ns show quote for Amar Remedies.
Seniors please guide if we can Use ABAN_a.NS for the valid quotes from ***** for ABAN OFFSHORE.
