Wisdom of Thomas bulkowski

Visited Thomas Bulkowski's site http://thepatternsite.com to learn Chart patterns

He made me wiser. He is making money selling books, not trading.

His trading performance shows it.http://thepatternsite.com/trades.html

Some more wisdom from him. http://thepatternsite.com/faq.html

Whatever he has made is by buying fundamentally strong value line stocks and holding for medium term

Anyway
I dont want to be a loser trading his patterns, and
I dont want to make him richer buying his books.

Let him do whatever he want. But isn't his research interesting. Lots of statistics which we weren't even aware, before reading his book.

For eg., we were of the opinion that breakout from ascending triangle usually takes the direction of the previous trend (ie upside breakout), and that sometimes it breakouts downwards. But from his statistics we can see that the breakout probability on both sides is almost equal. And that most of the breakouts, and not some (as we were thinking) are followed by pullbacks.

Whatever may be the critics, his book/website makes us aware of lots of things.

Hi Niranjanam!

I wont like to comment upon other things but returns are good. We have to remember that returns are relative and not absolute. A lot many fund managers wouls strive to get such kind of returns. Even in the last calendar year, the much talked behemoths (Hedge Funds Industry) could not manage to earn more than 13%.

Best Regards,

Hello Friends

To trade the markets successfully ,everyone must find his own system.
If you can trade the patterns profitably, stick to that.
At present I trade a mediocre system which I want to improve upon.
one must have absolute faith in the concept to trade it successfully
But I dont find it in pattens.Just posted my thoughts after going through the site.

Regards
Niranjanam.
