I am investing first time in mf ...SIP or lumpsum which one is better...i will be needing money in jan 2019 hence i am creating it for 1 yr period. is l&t infra.(G) a good option?How does the mf sip work

If your investment time horizon is less than 3 years, it will be risky to invest in mutual funds.
