Should I make stop loss orders on unsettled purchases?

#1
Hello,

I have just started investing in stocks and I make stop loss orders immediately after buying a stock. But I am confused whether I should do the same on the next two days (T+1 and T+2) when the stocks I purchased are still not credited to my demat account.

If I make the order on those days and it get executed, there is a chance of short delivery if the stocks I bought are not in the list of my broker's BTST (Buy Today Sell Tomorrow) stocks. If I don't, I will lose money if there is a big fall in the prices.

How do you experienced investors go about this situation?
