Small tip for you guys, Use DCF formula for calculating intrinsic value of bonds, it is SPOT ON. Extremely good for distressed investing. Cheers.

Hi Mr.G, Are you shorting gold? QE has created a good opportunity in commodity market too..

by the way, just want to add something which really annoys me, that most of the indian economist and cartoon character on TV channels don't understand the quantity easing. i hear most saying its just taper, means cut in buying(not selling). what they don't understand is that tapering is holding down interest rates, if the FED cut its buying program then the aggregate supply curve WILL move toward the left, which will increase the interest rates to go up.

http://www.prometheusmi.com/2012/10/18/detailing-the-ineffectiveness-of-quantitative-easing/

what analyst should know is that if the interest rates moves up dramatically then the value of equity market goes down. If U.S govt 10 year bon yield spikes more then 3.5% by February we can expect a start of bear rally in U.S market.

Youl die of hyper irritation if you keep listening to the TV cartoons man! I am a stock market guy and i keep in my limits. I dont know anything about gold or commodities and neither do I wish to indulge in it.

I was playing with the idea of speculation in penny stocks, Why? Because they are away from the view of fund managers and professional analysts. Higher chances of a market inefficiency there.

Value buying paradise, I think as written in security analysis that a series of speculative activities with net a positive result can be deemed as an investment operation.

There is more return and more opportunity which gives us more for spreading of risk of bets.

As a security Analyst, I made a big mistake, I looked at aurobindo pharma few years back before investing into alembic pharma and somehow didn't give it much time. and now it seems like a million$ mistake i made.. its still a buy..

In India till recently, and maybe its still rampant, .... microcap and small caps were favourites of the "manipulators" who do it for generating TAX FREE "Long Term Capital Gain" through these stocks.
One has to be a bit extra careful while choosing the stock.
