Physical share certificates

Hello friends,
I have some physical share certificates of reliance petroleum but I don't know if they have been converted to reliance industries or not .if they have been converted why do I still have physical certificates of reliance petroleum.....was it not necessary to submit physical certificate of reliance petroleum to convert it into reliance industries?.....How can I check if physical certificates are still valid or not?.

there was no requirement to surrender physical shares of RPL when the same were swapped for RIL shares .hence you have RPL share certificate is null and void now.
