Sure it takes lot of efforts to back test and calculate P/l.

I have a suggestion, correct me if i am wrong... As per the system we are placing orders in futures, so why are we calculating on Nifty spot?
Is it possible to 1. trade as per futures level and 2. Can you back test the results with Nifty futures levels.
If yes then how will we take care of expiry part.

I may sound naive but still expecting reply.
Once again , thanks for the wonderful mechanical system.

u r right in ur doubts
we are trading futures and backtesting also to be done on future
but problem lies in "premium"
which is not stable,changing all the time
so backtest on future may not give correct result
i practically noted many times,that future jumps suddenlly 5-6 pts ahead of nifty spot
regarding expiry there is no alternate other than,square and take fresh position
or if signal come in the last week,take position in next month

I feel if we are trading in futures than we should work according to futures 2 days high low breakout because that way we would be able to avoid the volatility of nifty's premium and discounts.

for instance, if there is a buy signal in spot and is rising but future price is stagnant and loosing premium.

for today exit below 5888(low 7.12.12)

sell below 5839(lowest of last two days)
