I am just starting my financial planning, & am interested in knowing about the various investment avenues available. I would like to get the list of places one could potentially invest money in - bank deposits, FDs, Mutual Funds, govt/corporate bonds, coupons, real estate... Would be interested in knowing about the specific types of financial products where applicable (zero-coupon bonds for ex., instead of just 'bonds'). Relevant books & links are particularly welcome.
Open to hearing about less conventional options as well, like venture capital/private equity, investment in arts/coins etc.
