intra-country arbitrage?

#1
Hi,
I had a question.
assuming i have an international broker with me, and the stock that I'm interested in trading in is listed on both stock exchanges (ex: Nyse and dax)
Is it possible for me to buy a stock from the nyse and sell it on dax simultaneously and earn a profit via arbitrage (obviously if the opportunity exists)

Can i do this?
Can you anyone point out the positives as well as the drawbacks to a trade like this?

Thanks!

Well i think you can. You can do the arbitrage that is you can buy the common stock(s) from one exchange(Say NYSE) then convert the said stock(s) to make it tradable on the other stock exchange which here will be Frankfurt Stock Exchange(Dax is one of its index). It also depends upon headroom(the market share you don’t have minus market share you won’t get) availability you have or can get. Generally the cost of conversion is 2-5 cents per stock, and if i am not wrong this cost is negotiable. Plus you can do the same with ETFs also.

Hope this helped. :thumb:
