HDFC Prudence MF.... Loosing Steam?

Hello Experts!

Is HDFC Prudence MF loosing its Steam? Propogated as the best among its peers, I find it off late much lower in the list with many other balanced funds taking over by leaps and bounds.

What is your opinion... One should wait for a while and continue SIP or it is time to switch of loyalties?.

depends on the fund manager. if he messes up, fund goes down. And continuing with sip would be good for a sip.

markets are going down.. how can we expect our MFs to outperform the markets without having the right to short-sell?

If Sebi allows short-selling for MFs, then we can see very good returns from Mutual funds.

I agree with fast_rizwaan. As the whole market is turned into a slaughterhouse, we can expect the fate of managers' bets. One cannot assess the fund looking only into the bear phase performance. It may regain its sheen when market completes a full circle.
In past this very fund has handled the market cycles very well. The star rating is still satisfactory. So continue the SIP & remain vigilant!
