Free NSE Stocks EOD Data 1995 Onwards(in all formats F-Charts, Amibroker & Metastock

I am going to post the National Stock Exchange (NSE) End of day data in all formats that I can. I will also be posting the detailed process as to how to load this data into F-Charts, Amibroker, and Metastock and get them up and running. I am new to the site and this site provided me with a lot of help to be able to do all this. Now its my turn to provide this information for the benefit of others consolidated in an ordered way in one place.

I am posting the links right now for NSE data in .CSV. I have zipped the files to reduce the size of the files to be downloaded. The .rar files can be opened using WinRar software. For those who don't have the software, the link for the software is given below:

Here is the NSE EOD data for 2010 till 23rd may. (Weekends Holiday....)

I am posting the last set of NSE EOD stocks data in CSV format. As I have mentioned before I will be mentioning the complete data in all formats required for F-Charts, Amibroker and Metastock and then explain how to set up the data in the softwares and get them up and running. But all this is a laborious task and may take some time. I will try to do it at the earliest.

Meanwhile if you want any of the above information/data immediately, do reply and let me know so I will post that first.

Could you share any doc to convert CSV to Metastock. Most threads i read ask me to download their software to have all data downloaded and neglect the CSV . Would appreciate if you could post the details, thanks.

Procedure to Load NSE EOD data into Amibroker

I am going to describe the detailed procedure here to load the NSE EOD data into Amibroker as has been requested above.

Please follow the following steps:

STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE NSE EOD DATA AND UNZIP IT

Download the NSE EOD data using the links provided above. Unzip the data and keep the .csv files ready. Extract/Unzip the data yearwise. This is useful since Amibroker usually slows down if data for many years is imported into it in one go. So it is better to import the data into Amibroker year by year.

STEP 2: DOWNLOAD THE NSE EOD DATA FORMAT FILE (1 KB)

When importing data into Amibroker it is required to tell Amibroker what each data column in the .csv file means. This is done by providing a format file. You can download the format file from the link given below:

STEP 3: PLACE THE FILE IN THE 'FORMATS' FOLDER

When Amibroker is installed onto the system it creates a folder called 'Formats' inside the Amibroker installation folder.

The file that has been downloaded in STEP 2 above needs to put into this folder. Copy the file 'NSE.format' that you downloaded above and paste it in the 'Formats folder' inside the Amibroker installation folder.

If you have used default options to install Amibroker on drive C: then you need to paste the file in the C:\Program Files\Amibroker\Formats folder.

STEP 4: IMPORT THE DATA INTO AMIBROKER

Once the format file has been place in the correct directory as described in STEP 3 above, we are ready to import the data into Amibroker.

Start Amibroker and goto Files->Import ASCII. On the dialog box that opens up two things need to be done. First, select 'NSE Format' in the 'files type' drop down box. Secondly, browse to the folder in which you have saved the NSE EOD files of any of the years. Click on any of the .csv files displayed in the dialog box and then press CTRL + A to select all the files. Now click on open. Amibroker will start importing data and the progress can be seen at the bottom of the screen.

Repeat the above procedure for data of all the years that you want to have in Amibroker. I hope this should help in getting Amibroker started up and running. In case of any other queries kindly let me know. I will try to provide screenshots for the procedure soon to increase the clearity of the procedure.

I have been a bit busy lately due to which I was not able to respond to the query immediately. I will try to do so as fast as possible.

As for the query regarding Metastock data, yes there is standard procedure to get data into Metastock and I will describe it soon.

I require EOD NSE F&O data which adjusted w.r.t any corporate action like stock split ,bonus shares etc. Is ur data is adjusted? if not can u please help in providing with adjusted data.
