Hi all ,

Hope you guys are doing awesome .
I've been trading stock for a month now and i have a good grasp on price action . I am looking forward to study the commodities market and then prolly start scalping .
I wanted to know a few things before i get started :
1. which are the most liquid commodities ? cause ii saw gold , not sure which series , but there were only 40 contacts trading on it ! maybe i was looking at it at the wrong place . not sure .
2. timings of commodities market ?
3. top 3 volatile commodities ?
4. any resources where i can learn more about them ?

Eagerly awaiting reply ,

Fudge .

Hi Ashu ,

Thanks for the link . i went through it and also went through the mcxindia site and wasnt able to find answers to my questions regarding volatility and liquidity .
i was only able to find data regarding the timing .

it would be very helpful if you could address my concerns .

hi
if u look at bhav copy of MCX data in mcxindia.com..u can very well understand liquid contracts details...

top 3 would be

gold, silver and crude

1) silver, crude, gold
2) 10 am to 11.30 pm you can trade all day long! Cover your day losses by night or lose your day winnings by night :)
3) same as Q1
4) learning about them would mean fundamentals, so not sure, google it and you'll find lot of information about their basics

If you compare Data from MCX Nickel is more volatile then Crude when u see it monthly, when you compare it yearly crude wins obviously :)

Volatility in Nickle is kinda event driven due to supply side constraints. once this demand supply situations settles down nickle will be back in low range trades as it use to trade earlier, whereas crude, silver and gold are evergreen commodities.
