Hello

I am an active BNF trader and now I wanted to try my hand at trading Commodities.

The challenge seems to be the long trading hours. From the posts on this section (Commodity) it seems not many active Commodity traders are posting here on TJ.
It will be nice if those of us trading Commodities can get more interactive, no need for tips of recommendations,
just some chit - chat and sharing reminders about trading calendar / events etc.

The first scrip I am watching is Crude Oil. The strategy will be simple.

Look at the Hourly candles 4/5 days to decide the current trend on this time frame, once the trend is decided, then try trading only that side.
For e.g. when we look at MCX Crude Oil 15 Feb expiry on Hourly Chart the current trend seems to be UP, so looking for Long trades only.

How to decide the trend, no rigid rules or formula just look at the chart and choose what the eye sees, in event of any confusion, simply consider it to be a sideways

Thanks

Hi

I am a newbie, I am interested to chit chat, yahoo skype, traderji forum learn your stratigies, share mine etc etc. I think it would be great as very few people actively comment in commodities section.

Thanks Vijay

True its tough to be active for 14/15 hours.

Want to implement a routine where i take some steps for better health like stretching/yoga, pranayama/meditation etc :)
and see how that will help

Also Thanks everybody else for feedback.

There is one thread by DSM which is relatively active. A view on commodities

I think its better for all those who are interested to post / ask queries to do so on that thread and make it more active.

Thanks

The trend decision should not be made on 1H charts ... it should be minimum based on 4H and daily charts .... 1H can be used for entry/exit or any TF of your interest ... also watch out the trend of DXY on 4H ...

Take decisions based on COMEX or NYMEX charts ... MCX is a simple follower ...

You can use investing dot com CL charts or open a demo with any brokers like Activtraders (MT5) or HotForex (MT4).

my 2 cents based on experience.
