Stamp Duty on Commodities (MCX)

#1
Hello,

could anybody confirm if retail traders are liable to pay the stamp duty for commodity trading? particularly for MCX/NCDEX.

I've come to know that few brokers are not charging commodity stamp duty while most of the popular ones do.

thanks

there should be stamp duty on commodities on commodities uniformly. In some state like wb there is no stamp duty on commodities whereas most states have. It is not good.those
who are in mumbai are paying and in wb it is not. So it is affecting
business in mumbai where turnover is high. Why wb govt is not imposing is a matter of concern,it should be immediately imposed.
Or itshould be exemted from mumbai.

wb CM asked to quit his minister from railway ministry for increasing 30 paisa fare...also left central alliance for cooking gas prise rise.

they won't impose tax ....your problem will be solved if you transfer your base location :)

sacchi baat

Shift your location & come here in Kolkata :) Or ask your State to remove Stamp duty.

Anyway, it is expected that from this budget we will have uniform stamp duty all across India. :)
