I am an equity trader and I have no hands on experience in commodity trading.
I plan to start trading commodities, I request some expert commodity traders to help me.

I believe my technical/charting skills works with commodities as it does with equity market. Is it right?

How to decide a suitable commodity and suitable time for trading?

Thanks in advance

Hi Gsalvadi,

Your TA Skills will work......across asset classes including Commodity....

Stick to Metals....Such as Gold, Silver, Copper, Zinc, Nickel & Lead

Besides Metals.... You can look for Crude Oil & Natural Gas

Do Not get into Agri Commodity.... because the prices are polled from mandis several times during the trading session.....hence it is better to stay away from it....

also note that you will be trading commodity futures, which can be dangerous if you do not have sufficient margin amount in your account.

I would suggest you do not trade any kind of futures until you have a big account.

Thanks for caution. Much appreciated.

I am aware of risks associated derivative trades, I won't be carrying over night.

BTW, is there something specific that makes people says that they feel comfortable with commodities than equity markets?
