What are "Delivery Handling Charges" ?? Which brokers have it ?

#1
I just checked my ledger with Sharekhan and was shocked to see an entry for "Delivery handling charges". Can someone please explain it to me ? Do the other brokers have such charges ?

It seems that the brokers charge the consumer for delivery of shares, under different guises. The discount brokers keep the delivery shares in their pool till the month end and then transfer it to your DP account and charge for it. One broker here in Surat - R. Wadiwala - charges a min brokerage of Rs. 15 per contract note, even if you buy a small amount of shares, say 5 shares of Reliance, you will be charged min Rs. 15 as brokerage.

Here Sharekhan have this "Delivery Handling Charges"

Yes, all brokers have some fees for handling DP charges. Sharekhan fees are the least offensive overall.
