A friend of mine has some physical shares of various companies in his name. He intends to sell them to me. He does not have a PAN card. Can I know the process of getting these physical shares transferred in my name. Can I get them transferred in physical form or in demat form. I have a demat account in my name. Please reply.

I want to do the same, have been advised by my icicidirect RM that its a very tedious process and the better way is to have him sell those shares and give you to the money to re-invest.

Not sure what the implications are regarding the bonus, dividends and IT.

thanks

You can get them transferred in your name in physical form and no PAN is required for that. Simply fill in a Share transfer deed and send it to the cos. Share transfer agents! Once you get the shares in your name in physical form, you can place them with your DL for demat!
