Delay in order execution after submit in Zerodha/NEST?

#1
A strange thing happened today while trading with Zerodha. I placed my order for Banknifty futures and it took a delay of 8 seconds before executing it - even though it was a market order. Same order was sent to another broker at the same time from another PC but that was executed in time. Because of this delay, it cost me some unexpected slippage.

I am trading for 1 and a half year and have never experienced such a big delay. Usually market order is always filled in 2-3 seconds max.

Anyone experienced similar problem with Zerodha or another broker? or if it happens to everyone from time to time?

Hi, Abhi,

Same problem with me too.It has happened 4-5 times in last 6 months. The Zerodha team resolves the issue by fresh installation/editing registry etc .But the solution is not stable as it recurs again and again.Initially I thought it is a net-speed problem. But it is not so.
When this happens every thing-acknowledgment,confirmation,completion,cancellation etc is effected. Also along with these ,the Admin window & order status window also are delayed.

I have been trading since 3.5 yrs with Zerodha but this problem first occurred in Oct-Nov 2014 and still continuing.Dont know what to do. One can not day-trade in such situation.
Can someone help please.

thanks

Off late, I have been disappointed with Zerodha for various reasons. Their terminal hangs up often. Prices stop refreshing every now and then. Loggin into the system takes eternity. Im not sure what the guys at zerodha are up to but its not helping me.

Ive experienced delays in market order execution as well.

+1 to that. I stopped trading with them from December 2014.

have you seen there bracket order performence yesterday(13.3.15) trailing stoploss not working, auto square at 3.20 not happened, somehow they covered it with trade under normal agaist BO, This is happening very frequently.Zerodha is obsessed with PI and busy in educating people, setting up various colourful presentation in their website and put all basic necessities of trading in the backseat.I cannot use PI because it does not support excel and most surprisingly does not have tool for support and resistance marking. So what is the alternative?

Who else did you switch to? How has your experience with the new broker?
I switched to RKSV and SAS. Both are good. RKSV's Nest is stable. I haven't used SAS's Nest. I used Now for SAS.

Zerodha is getting way too ignorant about the problems with their trading terminals(An elephant in the room). Specially, since they migrated to new servers. Every time someone reports some issue, they try to run away from it (you know the tone, it's working for us, nobody else is facing any problem, we're working on something else that will fix the problem in the future, even their support guys do this) rather than addressing it immediately. They don't realise that this isn't the way to protect the brand name(or may be they do but want to take us for a ride).

Order execution and platform stability are very serious concerns. I mean that's what the broker's job is. Having temporary fixes and solutions are not solutions. Plus I don't trust them with their deadlines about anything they promise any more.

The problem is people love the confidence and possibilities in the future that Zerodha projects. Mr Kamath has become Steve Jobs of the Indian broking industry(Kudos to that). Look how defensive many get when someone speaks against them on their thread.

Hey. Thanks a lot for your reply. The system from RKSV is similar to that of zerodha in terms of ease of using? Would you be kind enough to post a screenshot of the terminal/system when you can. Is it a heavy platform?

Zerodha, today reminds on reliance communications. When Rcom came out with the CDMA they grew so fast, almost too big for their own good. They largely ignored existing consumers in a quest to sign up more. Faulty billing, horrible service and negligence did them in. We all know what happened in a few years.

Honestly, I dont care who becomes another steve Jobs. All I care is to have a good reliable platform that wont let me down. I hope zerodha can adapt themselves quickly and do something to retain their consumers.

Have been using RKSV's NEST for two years. Not faced such issue. Stable platform and immediate execution is important for a trader.... RKSV's NEST provides both and has no bells and whistles and so it is lean and mean.

Yep, that's plain old NEST. The same as ZT. It isn't heavy.
