I have been a dormant member of this forum for quite some time now. I am really impressed with the amount information being shared and the members helping each other out. So thought will post my queries here.
I do currently actively trade on NSE and BSE on both Equities and Equity and Currency derivatives. I have been studying the Indian markets for few years and have good experience in developing risk and trading systems for Investment Banks in London. At this point I feel confident that I can work and develop on short and medium term trading strategies and models(that Im in the process of back testing) and would like to have few queries answered before I make the big investments.
Currently trading via Geojit. But is there a better(and safer) broker who charge lesser for transactions, especially in the derivatives market? These are the characteristics that I am looking for, in my broker -
1) Best brokerage rates especially for equity delivery and Options trading. I have heard the name of Zerodha here, but their website looks really naive and am not sure if I can trust them. Anyone with bitter\sweet experiences, please share.
2) Relatively safe and trust worthy broker, since investments will range from 30 - 50 lakhs per month.
3) seamless and hassle free transfer of money to and from my bank account via NEFT or RTGS. If it is real time, even better. Currently I have to wait for a day for the transfer to get reflected on my Geojit account.
4) Trading terminal that can give me access to basic tools + complex options strategy tools through which I can plot and analyse my netted positions.
5) Access to real time data on volume and volatility as well as other options parameters. Additional real time information on bulk deals and open interest etc are also very important.
6) Ideally I would love it if the brokerage has exposed APIs that I can use to consume real time feed and execute orders directly via the API. I am not looking for high frequency trading here but access to their APIs will help me develop my own tools based upon my model and deploy automated executions.
Please let me know what or who could be the best broker keeping in mind all these parameters. It will be really great if point number 6 is satisfied because not many big brokers allow execution of trades through their APIs.
Any info in this regard is greatly appreciated. I am sure I will have more queries later.
