Option Spreads - Margin

Hello ,

There seems to be information available that ICICI has started using SPAN margin systems since June 2012.

But need confirmation from an existing user with the actual amounts that are blocked. Someone please throw light on this.

How much margin is required for naked selling of options ?
How much margin is required for a simple credit spread ?
How much margin is required for a Iron Condor ( Two credit spreads ) ?

It makes a big difference if the margin requirement is lower than others and than what was till previous of June 2012.

Zerodha charges lower borkerage , but margin is different from Brokerage.

There are 5 - 7 threads already asking the same question in Traderji.
But none of them have a reply with numbers.

1. Can someone please let us know of a broker who asks for a lesser margin for spreads ? Will be very helpful with actual numbers.
ICICI has introduced SPAN only recently.

Brokerage is too high.
Interested in simple vertical credit spreads.

Not the same spread that u asked for but might be of some help and give u some idea.

I think minimum margin has to be charged by brokers as specified by NSE anything lesser there is a penalty to worry about... Don't know what icici is offering but am loving the span calculator on zerodha trader atleast lets you know the exact margin before entering a trade.. http://www.zerodha.com/Test/connect/blog/2012/10/span-calculator
