yup. However, if you are a HDFC bank customer you can set up Zerodha as a beneficiary for Funds transfer. Its free of cost and the transfer is instant.

After funds transfer, you can call them up and they'll have it credited in your trading account.

saves rs.9 + taxes.

you don't have to call HDFC. You only have to call Zerodha.

Instant meaning - Transfer is within the Bank - from one a/c to another. Bank does it instantly.

But, Zerodha ought to know that it has been done. The transfer from Zerodha's bank a/c to YOUR trading a/c is manual and takes time. Hence, if you call up Zerodha and tell them about the transfer, they'll check and credit your TRADING account instanly. Else, the procedure takes 4 hours.

To add Zerodha as beneficiary - http://www.zerodha.com/main/zerodhafundaccount.html

check ONLINE TRANSFER column.

@zerodha

1. How do we check in our terminals (NOW and zerodha trader) if a futures contract is under ban period ?
2. If the futures contract is under ban period does it imply that new options position cant be created?

Hi Zerodha

Do I need to allocate fund to FNO segment separately for trading in Future and Options ? If so ..how ?

The reason I'm asking this is ...I find an issue in the Margin Statement.
In Margin Statement I see under FNO segment Margin Balance shows -ve (I purchased options) although I see enough Margin Balance lying in NSE-EQ segment .

Is there any action I need to take here ?
No action required..

It will be adjusted with your equity balance...

@ Zerodha/Traders:

any idea if the new exchange intends to recognize option spreads ? like vertical spread/ratio/covered call.....

its about time these are recognized.

How to reach those people to suggest these requests?
Exchanges recognize these spreads, but not to the extent that you expect...

Eg, if you go short 5500 calls at 150 and go long 5600 at 60. In this case the maximum risk is just Rs 10, But exchange can't let you trade this position at Rs 500 because it has to consider your entry as it is using 2 orders and exit which will also happen in 2 orders..
