How to short nifty spot via icicidirect

The Trading Instrument to trade in Index is Index Futures . So basically it means that if you want to trade in Nifty then you will have to use Nifty Futures Contracts for Shorting/Buying as the case may be.
Nifty Spot on the other hand is an Index and it is not an instrument meant for trading.
ICICI Direct F&O Trading will definitely allow you to trade in Nifty Futures if you have opted for their F&O services .
